Paper Mill Shift SupervisorSofidel America, a global leader in the production of tissue products for domestic and hygienic use, is committed to sustainability, innovation, and operational excellence. We are currently seeking a Paper Mill Shift Supervisor to lead shift operations in our paper production department.This role is responsible for overseeing paper mill personnel, managing production efficiency, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards, and maintaining equipment performance. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership experience in an industrial manufacturing environment and a hands-on approach to team development and operational success.Key Responsibilities:Supervise paper mill operations during assigned shifts to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality productionLead and develop team members, promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvementConduct daily safety talks and enforce safety protocols including PPE compliance, Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space Entry, and chemical handling proceduresMonitor production schedules and coordinate resources to meet or exceed shift targetsTroubleshoot and resolve equipment and process issues to minimize downtime and maintain product qualityEnsure proper documentation of production data, incidents, and equipment maintenance activitiesMaintain effective communication between shifts and with other departments including maintenance, quality, and logisticsAddress staffing needs, support employee training, and participate in performance evaluations and disciplinary actions as necessaryRequirements:Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferredMinimum 5 years of experience in a paper mill or related industrial manufacturing environmentAt least 3 years of supervisory or team lead experience, preferably in a union or shift-based operationStrong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of pulp and paper production processesExcellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skillsFamiliarity with quality control systems and continuous improvement methodologiesExperience with maintenance systems such as JD Edwards is a plusMust be able to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to noise, heat, and industrial equipmentRegular standing, walking, and climbing requiredUse of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatoryWhy Join Sofidel America?Competitive compensation and performance-based growth opportunitiesComprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurancePaid time off and vacation benefits401(k) retirement plan with company matchOpportunities for career advancement in a global manufacturing leaderEqual Opportunity Employer:Sofidel America is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace.
