Operations Manager

Job Description Job Purpose:To provide senior managerial and operational support to the DC Manager by managing the day-to-day activities of the entire distribution center.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Manages and coordinates all operational activities of distribution centerAssigns other managers, supervisors, and all other warehouse associates to their specific dutiesOversees the warehouse schedules to insure proper staffing levels across all shiftsEstablishes operational procedures for the verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of all products, and the maintenance of warehouse inventories.Coordinates activities of the distribution center with the activities of the transportation company to insure on time deliveries to all storesManages the processes for system and records controlManages all aspects of employee safety and general trainingAssists with the reclamation of damaged merchandise and the proper reporting of al donationsEnsures that all state, federal, and OSHA regulations pertaining to the warehouse are followedManages and implements the department standards guidelines as approved by the DC ManagerManages the performance review process to meet HR and corporate guidelinesManages the customer service functions to ensure timely resolution of all client issues.Minimum Requirements:Excellent communication skills and the ability to be a self-initiator who can implement and manage all operational programs as directed by corporate.High level of computer and WMS system literacy.College level training with a minimum of 8 to 10 years experience in the area of warehouse management.Education and/or Experience:· Knowledge of ammonia systems.· Strong English skills, reading, written and verbal· Strong communication skills-will be dealing with many vendors· Excellent follow up and follow through skillsComputer Skills:· Experience in Microsoft Windows and Office softwareReasoning Ability:· Must be able to interact with all levels of management. Must be able to manage and lead a diverse workforce.· Ability to make independent decisions as needed.· Solve problems with no directions· Demonstrate ability to examine the logical relationships between conclusions and their supporting assertions.· Must be able to draw conclusions from facts and evidence.Physical Demands:· The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
