Senior Manager Risk Management

Our client is seeking a strategic and operationally focused Senior Manager, Risk Management to lead and oversee the organization’s risk management, insurance, and claims administration programs. This role is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and mitigating organizational risk exposures while developing and implementing effective risk management strategies, policies, and procedures across the enterprise.The Risk Management leader will collaborate cross-functionally with internal leadership, external partners, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators to support operational excellence, reduce financial exposure, and ensure compliance with company policies and industry best practices.Responsibilities:Lead and manage risk management operations, including claims administration, insurance programs, and loss control initiativesEvaluate, select, negotiate, and manage commercial insurance coverages and carrier relationships to ensure appropriate protection and cost effectivenessAdminister and oversee the company’s self-insurance programs for casualty and commercial property claimsOversee company-wide claims management activities, including workers’ compensation, general liability, auto liability, and property claimsManage relationships with third-party administrators, brokers, carriers, legal counsel, and external risk management partnersAssist in identifying, analyzing, and evaluating organizational risk exposures across operations, property, casualty, auto, and emerging business activitiesDevelop and implement programs and procedures designed to minimize risk exposure, reduce claims frequency/severity, and control insurance-related costsCreate and deliver training programs focused on risk awareness, safety procedures, and loss prevention best practicesMonitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks to proactively recommend improvements and risk mitigation strategiesPrepare and manage departmental budgets and monitor expenditures for adherence to approved financial plansDevelop, track, and report key performance metrics related to claims, insurance costs, safety initiatives, and operational risk managementDevelop and maintain policies, procedures, and internal controls to support compliance and operational consistencyIdentify opportunities for process improvements, operational efficiencies, and cost reduction initiativesPartner with leadership and operational stakeholders across a decentralized organization to support enterprise risk management objectivesLead, mentor, and develop team members through coaching, performance management, and professional development initiativesPerform additional duties and special projects as assignedMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Risk Management, or a related fieldMinimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in risk management, insurance, claims administration, or related areasPrior leadership or staff management experience preferredStrong understanding of commercial property and casualty insurance coverages and claims management conceptsExperience managing workers’ compensation, general liability, auto liability, and property claims programsStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsExcellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and OutlookAbility to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environmentStrong attention to detail with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
