Senior R&D EngineerLocation: Central CaliforniaCompensation: $102K–$120K baseStatus: Full-Time | ExemptOverviewEngineering/manufacturing organization seeking a Senior R&D Engineer with strong pump or rotating equipment experience. This role leads product development, testing, and engineering analysis with a focus on improving performance and reliability of pump systems and related fluid-handling equipment.The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with pump design, hydraulics, performance testing, or troubleshooting pump-based systems in industrial or manufacturing environments.ResponsibilitiesLead R&D and product development for pump and fluid-handling systemsPerform engineering analysis (FEA/CFD) supporting pump performance and design improvementsDevelop and execute test plans, validation studies, and DOE for pump systemsConduct root cause analysis on pump performance, failures, or field issuesSupport prototype builds, testing, and data collection for rotating equipmentCollaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and commercial teamsProduce CAD updates, engineering documentation, and technical reportsMentor junior engineers on pump design and analysis methodsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field5+ years of experience in R&D or product developmentDirect experience with pumps, hydraulics, or rotating equipment strongly requiredExperience with FEA/CFD, testing, and structured problem-solvingStrong communication and cross-functional collaboration skillsPreferredMaster's degreePE licenseLean Six Sigma certification
