Field Service Technician -Low Voltage Security
Job Description
Territory: Sarasota, FLThe Service Technician role is to repair physical security systems, Internet/Network Connectivity related to those systems, diagnose and repair onsite hardware and software involving Access Control Systems, Video Systems (analog and IP), Security Alarm Systems and other low voltage electronics. We are looking for an individual with a strong background in physical security systems, relays, low voltage, networking, and information technology. The right candidate must possess excellent customer relationship skills and be a great team player.Responsibilities And ExpectationsDiagnose and repair physical security systems at the customer location in an efficient and timely manner with the objective of restoring systems to full functionalityPerform preventative maintenance as required by service and maintenance contractTrouble-shoot issues remotely utilizing provided software and an internet connectionTravel to customer locations throughout Florida on an continuous day to day basisAvailable to be on-call for emergency service rotation at least 2 weeks a monthWork independently to research and resolve issues with equipmentPerform special projects and other duties as assignedAssists with other technical support issues, as neededHandles other matters and duties necessitated by operations in his/her area and/or assigned by Service Coordinator or ManagerMust be able to work independently, as well as within a team. Strong organizational and time management skills with an ability to establish priorities and proceed with objectives with little supervisionJob SkillsElectrical background and knowledge of electrical materialsLow voltage background to include relays, loops, and inputs/outputsSuccessful experience with complex electronic security system installationsDiagnose and repair systems at the customer location in an efficient and timely manner2-3 years of computer networking and access control experience a plusExperience configuring IP based products (IP Address, DNS, VPN)Knowledge of cabling including: Fiber Optic & Cat5ePC skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office, Command Prompt and the capability to learn manufacturer specific softwareGate service experience a plus, but not requiredAbility to read schematics and possess an understanding of relay logicAbility to travel to project locations throughout Florida on a day to day basisMust be able to work outside in harsh environments and climb ladders, etc.Must be able to lift 75 lbsSystems Related KnowledgeeMerge, Sonicwall, iBoot, Avigilon, Digital Watchdog, Speco, or other card access and IP video based system experienceMust have video security systems and camera installation experienceFamiliarity with NVRs and analyticsRelay logic and troubleshooting of systems cable and devicesFamiliar with electric lock hardware installationStrong Microsoft Windows skillsUnderstand and interact with LAN systems as a part of an overall security installationUnderstand low voltage systems installation and servicingEducation/ExperienceHigh School Diploma or equivalent requiredAssociates Degree in computer networking, or similar, is preferredMinimum 3 years? experience in a related position/fieldKnowledge, skills, or experience in CCTV, Access Control and Security SystemsKnowledge, skills, or experience in Networking & Programming a plusMust have valid driver?s licenseMust be able to travelMust be able to work nights and weekends, if required.Must pass background check and drug screening.
