Front Desk DescriptionReports to: Front Desk Manager | FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Full-Time, Part-TimePosition OverviewA front desk team member is conscientious, friendly and responsible for welcoming guests, managing online and telephone reservations, verifying guests' payment methods during check-in as well as being the front line for representing Alpen Bluffs Outdoor Resort as whole, Front Desk Team Members have a pleasant and professional disposition with guests and other resort Team Members.To be successful as a Front Desk Team Member, you should provide guests with general information about the resort and surrounding area, and stay up to date on attractions that may be of interest to guests.Essential Job Duties And ResponsibilitiesChecking guests in and outTending to guests' complaints and questions and providing exceptional guest experiencesEnsuring the front desk and reception area is kept clean and organized.Performing administrative duties such as filing and updating records, among others, as neededReceiving and managing reservations made online and over the telephone.Verifying guests' payment methods during check-in.Assigning sites, cabins or yurts to guests and informing them of any specials or social events offered by the resort.Monitor and restock inventory for Alpen Grab and GoAssists guests with reservations for onsite activitiesMakes recommendations for places to eat and enjoy in Gaylord and surrounding areaCompetes site tours when requestedAnswers the phones and responds to emailsHandling guest complaints and special requestsEnters service requests to the maintenance teamEnsure that all arriving and departing guests are treated with maximum courtesy and are served expeditiously.Providing guests with any information about the resort.Keeping abreast of attractions that may be of interest to guests.Ensure the credit card system reconciles to daily transaction listsAdhere to the Alpen Market Inventory receiving, check-in, and distributionOther duties as assignedRequirementsHigh school diploma or GED.Demonstrated previous Customer Service experiencePrevious hospitality experience would be preferred.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Well-presented and professional appearance.Competency with Microsoft Office.Ability to learn on the job.Excellent customer service skills.Must have flexible hours.Available to work on weekends and holidaysPHYSICAL DEMANDSRequiredThe physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
