Palo Alto Firewall Engineer

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Palo Alto Firewall Engineer to design, implement, manage, and optimize Palo Alto Networks security solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with next-generation firewalls and a solid understanding of network security principles to protect enterprise environments. Key Responsibilities Design, deploy, configure, and maintain Palo Alto Networks firewalls (PA-Series, VM-Series) Manage security policies, NAT rules, VPNs (IPSec/SSL), and threat prevention profiles Configure and manage Panorama for centralized firewall management Monitor firewall performance, logs, and alerts; troubleshoot network and security issues Implement security best practices, including application control, URL filtering, and SSL decryption Perform firewall rule reviews, audits, and policy optimization Support network segmentation and Zero Trust security initiatives Collaborate with network, security, and IT teams to support business requirements Maintain documentation for configurations, procedures, and network diagrams Participate in change management and on-call support as required Required Skills & Qualifications Strong experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls Hands-on knowledge of Panorama Experience with IPSec and SSL VPN configurations Solid understanding of TCP/IP, routing, and network security concepts Experience with security features such as Threat Prevention, WildFire, URL Filtering, and App-ID Ability to troubleshoot complex network and security issues Preferred Qualifications Palo Alto Networks certifications (PCNSE. NGFE) Experience with cloud firewalls (AWS, VM-Series) Knowledge of automation using APIs, Ansible, or Terraform Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience 5+ years of experience in network security or firewall engineering Benefits: Competitive salary and benefits package ($120,000 - $160,000) Opportunities for professional development and growth.
