We pride ourselves in being a family-oriented organization with a goal of upholding the safety and health of our number one asset, our employees.Position OverviewThe Plant Ground Hand Laborer position is an integral part of the plant crew working with the entire team and management to ensure jobs are completed to high standards. The ideal candidate is familiar with physical labor and is able to perform tasks related to HMA work in numerous settings and environments.Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral laborer duties associated with HMA plants.Required ability to shovel, rake and handle other small tools.Equipment cleanup as needed.May be called upon to run small power tools.Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment and movement of materials.Maintain the yard and plant, keeping it neat and free from debrisShovel material around and onto conveyorsGeneral housekeeping around the plant facilitiesAssist with cleaning parts, material, and equipmentPerform other tasks as assigned by Plant ManagerAlways adhere to all plant rules and regulations and wear proper safety equipment while on plant groundsMay be trained to operate forklift, loader, etc.Ability to perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications1 year (or under) experienceMust be organized with a detail-oriented mindset.Must be positive, friendly, and professional.Ability to work well with others in a group or one-on-one setting.Promote, execute and adhere to the company's safety policy, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself, or endanger the wellbeing of others.Promote a team approach and maintain dialogue with all employees to exchange information and gather ideas.Collaborate with any project teams on other special initiatives, as required.Knowledge/Skill RequirementsEntry Level PositionWorking knowledge of aggregate production and associated equipment, and an understanding of operations and safety requirements is preferred.Familiarity with MSHA and OSHA regulations, a plusHigh School Diploma or GED preferred, but not requiredWorking ConditionsBe available for overtime, extended hours, night shifts, and weekends as required.Some travel may be required as our operations span throughout Texas.Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include but not be limited to inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements.Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required.Proper PPE is required at all times.BenefitsThis position is FULL TIME.The pay structure for this role will be based on a competitive hourly rate.This position will qualify for the employee benefit program.Comprehensive medical, dental and disability benefits programs401k retirement planEmployee Stock Purchase PlanThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
