Systems Engineer

Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain the organization's compute, storage, cloud, and operational technology infrastructure. Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks or issues, and proactively implement solutions to optimize performance and ensure high availability. Implement and manage monitoring tools to oversee system performance, identify issues, and implement necessary measures to optimize system performance and reliability. Conduct regular system backups, audits, and testing to ensure business continuity. Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for escalated infrastructure issues. Investigate and resolve complex problems, collaborating with cross‑functional teams and vendors as needed. Perform root cause analysis of incidents and develop preventive measures to minimize future occurrences. Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry best practices, applying them to enhance performance, reliability, and security. Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. Prepare regular reports on infrastructure performance, security incidents, and other relevant metrics. Be on call for emergency situations when required. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer information systems, management information systems, or equivalent industry experience. 5–7 years of experience as a system engineer in an enterprise or data center setting. Experience with on‑premises hosting platforms (vSphere/Hyper‑V), storage (NetApp) and backup. Proficiency with code, and the ability to do scripting or coding in at least one popular language (e.g., Bash, Python, Ruby). Data center experience is a plus. Eligibility to work in the United States. Successful completion of a comprehensive background screening. Details Location: Northern Virginia. Domestic travel required up to 15%.
