NICU Travel RN Job Details Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020 – $2,130 Location: A leading pediatric hospital in Madison, WI 53792 (Madison, Wisconsin; Wisconsin nursing jobs) Position: Travel Nurse / Travel RN – NICU (Level IV) Contract Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night shifts, 3x12 hours (7:00pm – 7:30am), Monday through Friday; required to work 2-3 weekends per 6-week period Hours per Week: 36 Start Date: May 18, 2026 End Date: August 17, 2026 On-site Parking: Permit required; other transportation options available Qualifications / Job Requirements Minimum 2 years of total NICU (Neonatal ICU) III/IV experience, including at least 1 full year in a Level IV NICU Experience caring for post-op neonates, g-tube care, trach/vent management, and multiple modes of invasive/noninvasive ventilation Active Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license (must be in hand at submittal) BLS and NRP certifications (AHA required) Travel RN experience required (previous Travel Nurse assignments preferred) Epic electronic charting system experience Telemetry exam required prior to start (strict passing criteria) Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only) NICU RN Responsibilities Provide comprehensive neonatal nursing care for critically ill neonates and infants, including surgical and high-acuity patients Manage complex diagnoses such as congenital heart disease, neurologic disorders, metabolic/genetic disorders, and post-surgical recovery Perform and manage invasive and noninvasive ventilation, tracheostomy care, g-tube management, and post-op care Monitor and interpret telemetry, manage UAC/UVC lines, and administer antibiotics/antivirals per neonatal critical care protocols Support and educate families on breastfeeding, breast milk handling, and the neonatal continuum of care Float to all units including PICU for patients less than 12 months of age as needed Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams: IV therapy, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, radiology, and social services Experience Madison, WI — a vibrant city with lakes, outdoor recreation, arts, and excellent dining.
