We take pride infostering a supportive, inclusive workplace where employees are valued, professional growth isencouraged, and contributions directly impact student success and the overall campus experience.Reporting to the Executive Director of Finance and Administration, with a dotted line to the VicePresident for Finance and Administration, the Director of Auxiliary Food Services and HospitalityOperations provides strategic and operational leadership for all campus dining, catering, and hospitalityservices at Queensborough Community College.This position plays a key role in shaping the campus experience by ensuring high-quality food serviceoperations, exceptional hospitality standards, and effective management of auxiliary revenue-generatingactivities. The Director is responsible for creating a welcoming, efficient, and service-orientedenvironment that supports students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors.Key ResponsibilitiesThe Director is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and continuous improvement ofcampus food services and hospitality operations, including but not limited to: Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day oversight of all dining and hospitality operations oncampus Oversee the preparation, quality, and service delivery of all menu items to ensure consistency,excellence, and customer satisfaction Lead, supervise, and develop food service and hospitality staff, fostering a culture ofaccountability, teamwork, and service excellence Manage and coordinate all campus catering services, including planning, logistics, execution, andevaluation of events Develop strong partnerships with campus departments to support events and deliver high-qualityhospitality services that enhance campus life Ensure compliance with all Local, State, and Federal regulations, including Health Departmentstandards, OSHA, ADA, and food safety requirements Maintain a safe, clean, and fully compliant food service and hospitality environment throughongoing training and monitoring Oversee inventory control, procurement, ordering, receiving, and vendor management to ensureoperational efficiency and cost effectiveness Manage financial operations, including cash handling, sales reconciliation, budgeting support,and reporting Identify opportunities to enhance auxiliary revenue streams and improve operational performance Prepare and maintain required operational reports, performance metrics, and compliancedocumentation Collaborate with campus leadership to align hospitality services with institutional priorities andstudent success initiatives Perform related duties and special projects to ensure uninterrupted, high-quality service deliveryMinimum Qualifications Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in food service management, hospitalityoperations, dining services, or a related field Demonstrated leadership experience managing both dining and catering operations Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, including Local, State, and Federal requirements Proven ability to lead, train, and develop diverse teams in a service-oriented environment Experience with budgeting, financial oversight, procurement, and inventory management Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skillsCompensation and Benefits Salary range: $90,000 – $110,000, commensurate with experience Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package provided through the Research Foundation of TheCity University of New York (RF CUNY), including health insurance, retirement plans, andadditional employee benefitsWhy Join QCC?At Queensborough Community College, you will join a mission-driven institution where your workdirectly contributes to student success and an exceptional campus experience.
