Commercial Sign Installation & Service TechnicianPosition Summary The Commercial Sign Installation & Service Technician is a critical field role responsible for installing, servicing, and repairing commercial signage for Johnny’s Signs. This position focuses primarily on outdoor sign installations and service work, often involving medium to large-scale projects performed at height using a boom truck. The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, solid handyman and basic electrical skills, sound judgment, and an unwavering commitment to safety. This position directly impacts customer satisfaction, revenue realization, and workplace safety. Performance Objectives Safely and accurately install new commercial signage according to job specifications. Perform service, repair, and maintenance on existing signage. Operate boom truck and basket safely at heights up to approximately 50 feet. Maintain 100% safety compliance at all times. Drive and operate Class B service vehicles responsibly. Troubleshoot basic electrical issues related to signage. Solve on-site installation and service challenges effectively. Execute hands-on installation tasks including measuring, cutting, drilling, fastening, and rigging. Use power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and torches safely. Physical Requirements This position requires sustained physical activity including lifting up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally. Work is primarily outdoors in temperatures ranging from approximately 15°F to 90°F. The role involves climbing, standing, bending, reaching, and working at heights while maintaining physical stamina throughout full workdays.
