Capital Projects Engineer
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Capital Projects Engineer to oversee the lifecycle of infrastructure upgrades within a dynamic power generation environment. You will drive technical excellence and operational efficiency by managing a diverse portfolio of capital projects, ensuring that every initiative is delivered safely and aligns with long-term facility goals.
Responsibilities
Lead the full project lifecycle, from initial conceptualization and scope development to final commissioning and closeout.
Collaborate with reliability and operations teams to translate facility needs into actionable technical specifications and cost-effective project plans.
Manage vendor relationships and contractor performance to ensure rigorous adherence to safety standards and project requirements.
Streamline the internal capital request process to secure approvals for emergent and planned facility improvements.
Coordinate site logistics, including material procurement, installation schedules, and daily operational planning.
Utilize document management systems and project tracking software to maintain budget transparency and accurate project documentation.
Qualifications
Required Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or a closely related engineering discipline.
Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in project management or engineering within an industrial or manufacturing setting.
Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets, scopes, and cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and SharePoint, for project tracking and reporting.
Preferred Skills
Direct experience overseeing capital improvement projects in a power or utility environment.
Strong background in contractor management and field-based project execution.
Familiarity with technical drawing and document control software such as ProjectWise.
