Pay Rate: $18 an hourSUMMARYProvide security for indoor, national entertainment events. Responsible for a high level of guest service as described in your departments guest service standards. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESProvide guests with proactive visibility that will enhance their entertainment experience and give guests directionsProvide general security to include venue patrols, backstage entry control, watch for and address issues related to alcohol consumptionWatch for and address breaches of security, crowd management issues, persons in unauthorized areas and safety hazardsProvide efficient screening of guests entering the venue for prohibited items using bag checks while utilizing walk-through metal detectors and wand devicesProvide escorts and security for entertainers, their facilities and cordoned areasRespond to incidents of medical emergencies, fire, bomb threats, active shooter, severe weather and disorderly conductKNOWLEDGE AND CERTIFICATION, SKILLS AND ABILITIESKnowledge and Certification Required:High School Diploma/GEDPreferred:1-year experience and/or training in law enforcement, security, military or related fieldPrior event security work or equivalent experienceSkills Required:Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skillsStrong problem solving and conflict resolution skillsAccurate and detail-orientedHighly organized and ability to adapt quickly to changing prioritiesAbilities Required:Ability to interact with entertainers, event staff, guests, coworkers and management in a professional mannerAbility to effectively deal with intoxicated and disorderly persons in a professional mannerAbility to follow established dress code policies and practice good personal hygieneAbility to work in extreme weather conditionsREQUIRED TRAINING Treasure Island guest service trainingTIPS training and certificationCPR/First Aid trainingAdditional on-the-job training will be providedAny position-related training as determined by department managerPHYSICAL DEMANDS Must be able to sit, walk or stand and exert fast-paced mobilityMust be able to perform security, first aid, safety and control verification functions including the physical force required to control suspects and protect physical assetsMust have a good sense of balance, and be able to bend, kneel and stoopMust be able to reach and twist routinelyMust be able to push, pull and grasp objects routinelyMust infrequently be able to climbMust have the ability to independently lift up to 25+ pounds occasionallyMust be able to perform repetitive hand and wrist motionsMust have good eye hand coordinationWORKING ENVIRONMENTWork is performed inside the event center and surrounding exterior areas and may include flashing lights, frequent loud noises, cigarette smoke and extreme weather conditionsMust be willing to work a flexible schedule including long hours, weekends and holidaysMust deal with angry or hostile individualsHigh volume direct public contact
