Position TitleCDL Class A Lowboy Driver with HAZMAT EndorsementPosition SummaryMust have CDL Class A, HAZMAT Endorsement preferred or willing to obtain with Clean Driving Record. At least two years of transporting heavy equipment on a lowboy.The Lowboy Driver loads, unloads, and transports heavy equipment and attachments in a Lowboy truck. A CDL Class A License is required. The driver is responsible for safe and technically proficient operation of equipment to and from a job-site.TasksResponsible for complete safety checks, including truck equipment and supplies in accordance with CDL pre-trip guidelinesRecord operating data such as products and quantities, gauge readings, and operating times, manually or using computersMaintain proper maintenance of truck and distribute including tire pressure, fluid levels, etc. Communicate using 2-way radios and verbal communicationNavigating, or driving vehicles and heavy equipmentResponsible for clean truck, including cab and truck bedMaintain positive relationship with all employeesMaintain positive relationship with all customers and communityWash truck as scheduledMust be able to work nights, overtime, and weekendsOther duties as assignedValid Class A CDL with clean driving record. Must have a DOT physical and pass pre-employment drug screening per ALDOT regulations.SkillsOperation Monitoring - Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.Operation and Control - Controlling operations of equipment or systems.Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.Must be able to read maps and navigate around central AlabamaTroubleshooting - Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.Judgment and Decision Making - Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.AttributesMultilimb Coordination - The ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing, or climbing.
