Vice President-HVAC TechEngineering and ServiceIrvine, CAFull-timeWhat We Are Looking ForThe ideal candidate for this position is familiar with the HVAC (Heating/Cooling) industry with strong experience in related products, test standards and laboratory test environments. They are experienced in people management, possess strong interpersonal skills and can analyze a situation to create recommendations for team processes. They have a strong engineering background along with good communication skills and an aptitude for attention to detail.Responsibilities:Work with Product Managers and Research and Development teams in the development of new HVAC products and refinement of existing productsDevelop and oversee test plans for safety and efficiency certificationsWork with the Quality Assurance team to develop product monitoring and return product testing proceduresOversee development of technical documents such as manuals, specification sheets, etc.Keep up to date with local, federal, and certification agency regulatory and standard changesUpdate the organization on changing technology trends so that the organization can prepare and regulate business plans accordinglyProvide engineering support to sales representatives, installers, contractors, distributors, engineers and architects to ensure product installation compliance to company/code standardsActively engage with industry groups such as AHRI and ASHRAEProven ability to lead, influence, mentor and motivate employees to achieve personal and departmental goalsResponsible for hiring, training and development of team membersRequirements:Engineering degree from an accredited college/university7-10 years of experience in the HVAC industry, with a strong understanding of HVAC systems, technology and certification processesExperience in a technical leadership roleExperience in a lab testing environmentStrong collaboration skills and a solid team playerEffective time management and organizational skillsAble to manage productivity goals and quality standardsExcellent attention to detailOccasional off-site visits for certification testing or R&DExperience in developing performance metricsPreferred Qualifications:Knowledge of HVAC design and application toolsAbility to travel nationally and internationalGlobal experienceThis job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee.
