Maintenance Millwright- NIGHT SHIFT

General Description:The primary objective of the Maintenance Millwright is to maintain the mill and yard equipment in proper working order. PM work orders will be completed in a timely manner to ensure overall efficiency meets or exceeds the company standards. The daily activities of any maintenance personnel is subject to change due to the needs of the mill therefore, scheduled hours must be flexible. This position may also include running equipment as needed.Responsibilities:Work longer hours on short noticeCommunicating with the purchaser and Sawmill Manager to further support cost effective ways to manage purchasing and inventory control facility wide:Initiate purchasing of all consumable parts (with PM Parts Purchaser)Working with the PM Parts Purchaser and Sawmill Manager to build a Preventive Maintenance program for each area that is easily maintained:Sawmill MachineryWaste Systems and dust collection systemsAll outside yard equipmentCompressor PM and ServiceBuilding NeedsFollow PM program per the instructions outlined:Complete PM work orders as requiredComplete training to complete HOT WORK PermitsKnowledge of cutting torchesWeld/Fabricate:Mig & Stick WeldingAssemble and install equipment using hand and power toolsTroubleshoot and replace / repair defective partsAdjust clearances and align partsLearn to operate all sawmill equipment efficientlyProblem Solving:Analyze information and evaluate to choose the best solution to solve problemTravel to all locations as neededWork a minimum of 20% OFF production hours each week (when the facility is not running)Perform other related duties as assignedQualifications / Requirements:High School Diploma or EquivalentEffective Written and Oral communication skillsAble to work well with minimal supervisionAbility to Prioritize tasks and follow specified procedures5+ years relevant maintenance experience
