DescriptionSUMMARYThe Cleaning Team Member – Part Time plays a vital role in creating a safe, welcoming, and student-ready campus environment that supports learning, belonging, and student success. Guided by a Human First philosophy and the College’s Maroon & Gold Standards (MGS), this position helps ensure that instructional, student-service, and common spaces are clean, secure, and well-maintained—contributing directly to students’ ability to focus, persist, and succeed.This position performs general janitorial and housekeeping duties including cleaning and disinfecting restrooms, classrooms, offices, common areas, and other campus facilities. Responsibilities may include vacuuming, mopping, trash removal, floor care, restroom sanitation, event setup, snow removal support, and operating custodial equipment and cleaning tools.The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, customer service focused, and able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Team members help maintain high cleanliness standards while supporting a healthy learning environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.This role offers hands-on custodial and facilities experience while contributing to the overall appearance, safety, and daily operations of the College. Training is provided on cleaning procedures, safety practices, equipment operation, and chemical handling. This role models professionalism, teamwork, and stewardship while actively demonstrating the College’s mission, values, and commitment to a respectful, inclusive campus community.Essential FunctionsESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES included the following. Other duties may be assigned. Help maintain clean, orderly, and safe environments that reduce barriers to learning and engagement. Contributes to a welcoming campus atmosphere that supports student belonging, comfort, and retention. Interacts with students, employees, and visitors in a courteous, respectful, and service-oriented manner. Supports campus events and activities that enhance student experience and community engagement. Demonstrates care, pride, and accountability in maintaining spaces used by students, employees, and visitors. Sweeps, mops and dusts interior areas of buildings, washes walls, windows, woodwork, furniture and light fixtures; strips and polishes hard surface floors; vacuums and cleans carpet; empties waste containers and disposes of waste materials; cleans and sanitizes toilet rooms, showers, and drinking fountains. Clean areas around and entrances to buildings including snow removal/salting. Unlock/lock and secure interior rooms in buildings. Event set up/tear down and Building Maintenance as required. Assist with campus recycling initiatives.
