To be a successful Endodontist, you are required to create and maintain a professional appearance. Pay close attention to detail when performing procedures and charting patient information. Complete daily reports for each operation performed while conducting your job duties. Maintain current knowledge of new treatment options, materials, equipment, and products related to endodontics. Understand the process of endodontic treatment and be able to explain it to patients. Use the latest tools and technology related to endodontics during your job duties. Work well with others in a team setting, collaborate on patient care with other healthcare professionals, and communicate effectively with patients, clients, staff members, and coworkers.
Endodontist Duties & Responsibilities:
Administration of general anesthesia and performing endodontic therapy on patients with compromised dental health and infections
Creating and maintaining a professional appearance
Pay close attention to detail when performing procedures
Chart patient information
Complete daily reports for each procedure performed while conducting tasks
Maintain current knowledge of new treatment options, materials, equipment, and products related to endodontics
Understand the process of endodontic treatment and be able to explain it to patients
Use the latest tools and technology related to endodontics during job duties
Work well with others in a team setting, collaborate on patient care with other healthcare professionals, and communicate effectively with patients, clients, staff members, and coworkers
Endodontist Requirements:
Master’s degree in Endodontics from an accredited dental school
Licensed to practice in the state where practicing
Two years of postdoctoral experience, training, or obtaining a clinical certificate as RDCS. This may be satisfied by completing 24 hours of didactic instruction and 3600 hours of clinical experience under supervision.
Completed 1000 root canal procedures (includes Basic+)
Completed training in the management and prevention of dental emergencies
Certification in CPR
Significant knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, dentistry, oral surgery, and anesthesia
