Truck OperatorSUMMARYMortenson is currently seeking a Truck Operator that will be responsible for operating trucks as directed and specified while adhering to all rules and regulations as mandated by Mortenson safety policies and procedures.RESPONSIBILITIESOperate the following trucks based on project requirements: Water Truck, Dump Truck, Haul Truck, Tractor Trailer/LowboyFollow prescribed safety regulationsEnsure housekeeping is maintained in a clear and orderly fashion in assigned areaPerform routine maintenance including lubricating, fueling, and cleaningObserve equipment operation to detect machine malfunctionsFollow work plans and pre-task cardsBuild and maintain effective relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds and organizational levelsWillingness to travel per project needs and requirements.Perform all other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONSRelated construction experience preferredCurrent driver's license of proper classification and necessary endorsements as required by lawStrong teamwork orientationPositive attitude and professional customer service skillsDetail orientationAbility to move levers, shift gears, depress pedals, and maneuver steering wheel to operate equipmentAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and load chartsKnowledge of equipment and their usesUnderstand and apply basic mathematical skills (adding, subtracting, division, and multiplication)Ability to work independentlyActive listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedbackRepetitive hand, arm, leg movements*Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.Please note: this position description is not intended to be a comprehensive list of the duties and responsibilities of the position.
