Paid orientation including transportation, lodging, and meals.Duties & Responsibilities:Perform local pickup and delivery (P&D) routes within an assigned service area; home dailySafely operate a CDL A commercial vehicle while adhering to all DOT and company regulationsComplete multiple stops per day, including pickups, deliveries, and potential returnsProvide white glove service, including handling sensitive, high-value, or time-critical freight with careInteract professionally with customers, ensuring clear communication and high service standards at all delivery pointsAccurately complete and manage shipping documents, proof of delivery (POD), and electronic logs (ELD)Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and complianceSafely back trailers into docks and maneuver in tight or congested delivery locationsSecure cargo properly to prevent damage during transportCommunicate proactively with dispatch regarding route updates, delays, or service issuesEnsure freight is properly staged, loaded, and unloaded according to customer and operational requirementsIdentify and report mechanical issues or safety concerns immediatelyMaintain compliance with all DOT requirements, including hours of service and drug/alcohol policiesSupport team operations by assisting with loading/unloading or dock coordination when neededPerform additional duties as assigned to support local operationsQualifications & Experience:Class A CDL RequiredMinimum of 2 yrs. of Verified experience within the past 4 yrs. 3+ Preferred.Minimum 1yr Medical Certificate - Minimum ICC requirements related to physical qualifications as set forth under Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 391.41, Physical Qualifications of Drivers.Must have a TWIC Card or be eligible to obtain a TWIC Card.Hazmat requiredNo positive drug or alcohol test result in the past five (5) yrs.No accident involving bodily injury within the last three (3) yrs.No DUI/DWI, Reckless Driving or Speeding Tickets 12mph or higher in the past (5) yrs.Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to operate a commercial vehicle and perform physical freight handling activities, with or without reasonable accommodation.Sit for extended periods while operating a commercial vehicleUse hands and fingers to operate steering wheel, controls, GPS, and electronic logging devicesFrequently enter and exit the cab (46 feet) multiple times per shiftLift, carry, push, and pull freight ranging from 1125 pounds (team lift or equipment-assisted when required)Lift up to 50 pounds independentlyFrequently reach at or above shoulder height, at waist level, and below waist levelBend, twist, squat, kneel, and crouch during loading/unloading and inspectionsPerform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of tractor and trailerHook/unhook trailers, operate landing gear, fifth wheel release, and related equipmentWalk and stand for portions of the shift on surfaces such as concrete, metal, or dock plates, which may be uneven, wet, or slipperyOperate foot pedals and manual transmission (if applicable)Work Environment: While performing the duties of this role, the employee works in a combination of environments including inside a truck cab and outdoors at customer locations, terminals, and on public roadways. The position requires regular exposure to varying weather conditions such as heat, cold, rain, and wind during loading and unloading activities. The employee may also be exposed to diesel fumes, airborne particles, noise, and vibration associated with operating commercial vehicles. Work is frequently performed in busy warehouse yards, loading docks, and urban delivery environments, which may include tight spaces, traffic congestion, and time-sensitive delivery schedules. Noise levels can range from moderate inside the cab to loud at customer sites and industrial locations.
