Senior Estimator - Heavy Civil This senior leadership role sits at the heart of the estimating function, driving accurate and competitive bids for major infrastructure projects.You’ll lead and develop a team of estimators, ensuring they deliver high-quality, timely estimates while maintaining strong standards across the board. Working on large-scale roadway and heavy civil projects, you’ll take ownership of developing detailed cost breakdowns covering labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.The role also involves managing key supplier and subcontractor relationships, negotiating competitive rates, and providing ongoing cost analysis and budget support throughout project delivery.Key responsibilities:Lead and mentor estimators, driving team performance and developmentPrepare and oversee detailed cost estimates for complex roadway projectsDevelop bid strategies and approve proposals prior to submissionAnalyse project documents to determine scope, risks, and cost-saving opportunitiesConduct quantity takeoffs and site assessments for infrastructure elementsManage supplier and subcontractor relationships and negotiationsSupport project budgeting, cost tracking, and financial controlProactively identify and mitigate project risksMaintain accurate records and provide clear reporting to stakeholdersBuild client and team relationships, representing the company in key meetingsStay ahead of industry trends and drive continuous improvementRequirements:Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related fieldMinimum 10 years’ estimating experience for heavy civil/roadway projectsProven track record managing large-scale ($200M+) infrastructure bidsStrong leadership experience with mentoring and team developmentExpert-level skills in estimating software and Microsoft OfficeExcellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving abilitiesStrong communication skills for presenting to senior stakeholdersAbility to thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure environmentsDesirable:Relevant certifications (e.g. AACE, ASPE or equivalent)If you are interested in progressing your career, apply today!
