The firm primarily focuses on projects in California with offices in San Francisco, Oakland, and Los Angeles.All potential applicants are encouraged to scroll through and read the complete job description before applying.Position Details:Location: Oakland, CA (Hybrid Remote/Onsite 2-3 days a week)Type: Full time (Permanent)Looking for someone with previous Transit or Aviation industry experience.Projects Controls Specialist - Job DescriptionThe Project Controls Specialist encompasses resources, procedures, and tools for the planning, monitoring and controlling all phases of the capital project lifecycle, specifically focused on design (architecture and/or civil engineering). The ideal candidate is skilled with cost analysis, budget management, accrual accounting, and procurement and brings experience from large capital improvement transit programs/projects. Responsibilities include budget development, cost and schedule management, risk management, change management, earned value progressing, and forecasting.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist client and internal project managers with managing multiple projects through the entire development life cycle from concept including project management plans, contracting plans, risk registersCollaboration with all parties associated with the project to ensure it progresses according to plan, while working on several other projects simultaneouslySupport the development of monthly budget and schedule performance analysisMaintain comprehensive project document control using client designated systemsSet up cost control systems to link accounting functions and track reporting of commitments, actual costs and forecasts according to project codes and work breakdown structureProvide project management team accurate and timely information to facilitate informed decisions and adequate time to take corrective or mitigating actionsEnsure project elements adhere to the plan and approved changes are reflected in the project baseline and scheduleDrive the review processCapabilities and CredentialsIncorporate and apply knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to project activities to meet project requirementsBasic understanding and knowledge of standards and tools for project management phases, techniques and toolsGeneral understanding of architecture and engineering design components and their interdependencies.Familiar with public agency projects with multiple funding sourcesDetail oriented, analytical and problem-solving skillsExperience making presentations and creating reportsExcellent interpersonal, oral and writing skillsAbility to interface with all levels of peopleDemonstrate ability to understand client needs and actively monitors client satisfaction.Proficiency in relevant software programs (for example Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, and SharePoint software)Foster and manage trusting relationships with colleagues, clients and relevant stakeholdersAbility to work under direct and indirect supervisionEducation and ExperienceBachelor's degree in engineering, Architecture, Business, or Accounting from an accredited college or university preferred or equivalent training and experience in project management5+ years of experienceExperience in transportation, or public agency projectsProject controls, architecture and/or engineering design and/or construction management experience preferredProject management certification is preferredBlackstone Talent Group is a division of Blackstone Technology Group, a global IT services and solutions firm that implements technological solutions across commercial industry verticals and the US Federal Government. xywuqvp Blackstone's global talent augmentation practice was founded in 1998.
