Commercial Construction Project Manager

Zone Mechanical provides expert commercial and industrial refrigeration services in Northern Illinois and Northwestern Indiana. Specializing in installation, service, sales, and maintenance, they also lead in CO2 refrigeration systems. Their team offers full project management, from system design to installation and ongoing maintenance, ensuring efficient and reliable refrigeration solutions.The Project Manager oversees implementing the overall project plan forconstruction activities, delivering the projects within budget and at pre-determined costlevel. This individual will work closely with the client providing status updates ontimelines as well as budgeted costs and will be responsible for all documentation forchange orders. The PM will most likely be working on multiple projects for thecommercial retail client.Essential Duties/Responsibilities:* Create and execute project work plans, including tracking and reporting resourceavailability, and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.* Identify resources needed and assign individual responsibilities. Establish clearproject roles and responsibilities.* Travel required as needed* Coordinate the overall planning for communication, project risk, changemanagement and training.Facilitate team and client meetings effectively.Resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion.Communicate effectively with project teams to identify needs and evaluatealternative business solutions.* Gather and review construction documents* Working with other Project Managers during bidding, negotiation, and post bidprocessVisit job sites to monitor production / quality assuranceReview the work progress on daily basisPrepare internal and external reports pertaining to job statusPlan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging onesOperate as the lead point of contact for any and all matters specific to yourcustomersBuild and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationshipsExpand customer opportunities with other services we provideIdentify and grow opportunities within territory and collaborate with sales teamsto ensure growth attainmentAssist with high severity requests or issues escalations as neededVisit customer locations one time per week at minimumResponsible for achieving and maintaining desired gross profit percentage foryour customer bases* Perform other related duties as required and assigned* Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licensesBasic Qualifications:New product development experience required.PMP certification a plus.Experience working with and effectively leading cross functional teams essential.Proven ability to deliver high-quality projects on tight schedules.Strong and effective decision-making skills a must.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Individual must be a self-starter with strong organizational abilities.Ability to coordinate and prioritize required.Flexibility, initiative, and the ability to work with a minimum of direct supervision amust.Discretion and confidentiality required.Ability to work as a team member in a rapidly changing environment.Reliable, predictable attendance within client service hours for the performanceof this position.* Responsive to internal and external client needs.* Ability to clearly communicate verbally and/or in writing both internally andexternally.Knowledge of industry is requiredMust be well-organized and detail oriented.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Perform other related duties as required and assignedEducation/Experience:* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent job-related experience* Computer knowledge must include: MS Office- Word, Excel and OutlookPhysical Requirements:Regularly required to sit; occasionally required to stand; walk; occasionally lift and/ormove up to 15 pounds; noise level is usually quiet.
