Construction Manager

Role summary / purposeResponsible for coordinating and managing construction work performed by contractors and/or vendors at the project site. Acts as a critical bridge between field operations and customer leadership, ensuring construction crews and project stakeholders remain aligned.Key responsibilitiesAssess productivity, schedule compliance, work quality, and safety performance on the projectManage walk downs of planned work and validate acceptance of completed work to design requirementsApprove contractor payment requests and verify constructabilityEnsure proper resource allocations and assess field statusManage scope control, budget oversight, performance reporting, and schedulesProvide leadership and coaching to Construction Supervisors and supplemental workforceCommunicate departmental, station, and division goals to team membersAddress logistical challenges and resolve conflicts to keep construction activities on trackSurvey and observe contractor Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) practices; provide coaching, direction and corrective action as neededOversee large-scale commissioning efforts, including project scope and risk managementDevelop and implement commissioning strategies to optimize plant performanceLead complex negotiations with EPC contractors and regulatory agenciesConduct high-level project assessments to drive process improvementsRequirements - education & experienceAssociate degree or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Power Generation, or a related field (or equivalent experience)11 - 15 years of experience in power plant commissioning, working with EPC Contractors, engineering firms, and equipment suppliersRequired skillsStrong understanding of engineering principles related to power plant commissioningAbility to manage multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring technical and operational excellenceImpellam Group and its brands are equal-opportunity employers committed to diversity and inclusion.
