This person will design, implement, manage, and support enterprise network infrastructures across multiple sites and platforms. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Fortinet firewalls, switching, wireless technologies, VPN solutions, and is comfortable interacting with multi-vendor environments including Cisco, Palo Alto, and Juniper. This role involves both project-based engineering and day ‑ to ‑ day operational support, with a strong focus on uptime, security, and performance.This role will report to the Director of Infrastructure Operations .This is a 12+ month Contract ( Mainly Remote with some Domestic Tr avel ) opportunity offer ing excellent pay , benefits, and growth potential. Th is person must be locat ed in the Greater Atlanta Area .This role will be paying up to $46/hr w2 !!!!!!Primary Duties And Responsibilities Firewall, VPN, and Security Administer and maintain Fortinet products including FortiGate firewalls, FortiSwitch, FortiAP (WAP), FortiClient VPN, and endpoint protection. Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Site-to-Site (S2S) VPNs and client VPN configurations. Interact with and support client issues involving Palo Alto, Cisco ASR/ASA/Catalyst/Nexus, and Juniper/Extreme SRX, EX, and MX firewalls—primarily related to S2S VPN connectivity. Manage firewall OS upgrades, policies, rulesets, and inter-firewall transit configurations. Switching, Routing & Network Infrastructure Configure, deploy, and support Dell Open Networking switches including models 3248, 4148, 5148, and 5248. Manage VLANs, LAN, SAN, and WAN configurations across heterogeneous platforms. Configure and maintain VMware Distributed Switches. Conduct advanced TCP/IP subnetting, DNS record updates, and IP tracking. Wireless Networking Configure, deploy, and support enterprise Wireless Access Points (WAPs). Provide administration for Fortinet wireless environments. Monitoring, Analysis & Troubleshooting Utilize monitoring tools to gauge network health, performance, and availability. Perform network packet captures using Wireshark, TCPDump, NTA, and similar tools for troubleshooting latency, routing, and application performance issues. Diagnose and troubleshoot issues involving VLANs, jumbo frames, iSCSI SAN connectivity, backup routing po licies, and load balancing. Network Services & Telecom Manage telecom circuit outages, failover routing, load balancing strategies, and escalation paths. Open, track, and resolve carrier support tickets, ensuring timely restoration and root ‑ cause analysis. Maintenance & Operations Perform OS upgrades for network, firewall, and wireless appliances. Maintain documentation for network topology, configurations, and standard operating procedures. Support business continuity and disaster recovery initiatives through resilient network design. Requirements/Qualifications Bachelor’s D egree in CS, IT or Engineering (or equivalent work experience) Preferred Certifications: Fortinet NSE (NSE4, NSE5, or higher), Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Juniper JNCIA/JNCIS, VMware VCP (net working-related), CompTIA Networ k+ or Security + 3 + years of hands ‑ on networking experience in an enterprise environment. Strong experience with Fortinet ecosystem (firewalls, switching, wireless, VPN). Working knowledge of Cisco, Palo Alto, and Juniper platforms. Proficiency with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Manage Engine or Zabbix Familiarity with VMware Distributed Switching and virtualized networking. Skilled in TCP/IP concepts, routing protocols, VLANs, DNS, subnetting, and packet analysis. Ability to analyze complex connectivity problems and implement effective solutions. Excellent communication and documentation skills.
