Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Interventional Radiology Technologist Discipline: Allied Health Professional Start Date: ASAP Duration: 12 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Job Title: Interventional Radiology Technologist – Days Location: Columbia, Missouri Facility: Boone Health Job Type: Contract (Travel) Duration: 12 Weeks Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist to assist physicians and advanced practice providers in performing minimally invasive, image-guided procedures in both routine and emergency settings. The technologist will be responsible for operating specialized imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining a sterile procedural environment. Key Responsibilities Assist with interventional radiology procedures including angiography, biopsies, injections, thrombolysis, and tube placements Maintain strict sterile technique throughout procedures Review patient charts to verify orders and eligibility (medications, NPO status, etc.) Conduct patient assessments including history, implants, and allergies Educate patients and provide pre- and post-procedure care Operate and maintain imaging equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images Monitor patient vital signs and condition during procedures Administer contrast under radiologist supervision (when applicable) Ensure radiation safety (ALARA guidelines) Manage supplies, medications, and procedural resources Document procedures in EMR (Meditech) and manage imaging in PACS Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare teams Respond to emergencies and provide Basic Life Support (BLS) MUST HAVE REQUIREMENTS (Strict) Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology experience Hands-on experience with: Neuro IR cases GI embolization cases Active Certification (ANY ONE REQUIRED): R.T.(R) – ARRT OR R.T.(VI) OR R.T.(CV) OR R.T.(CI) OR RCIS Active State License (Required at submission) BLS Certification (for emergency response) Willingness to work on-call (weeknights & weekends) Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment Shift Details Shift: Monday–Friday (Days) Timing: 07:30 AM – 04:00 PM On-Call: Required (weeknights & weekends) Additional Job Details Specialty: Diagnostic Imaging Sub-Specialty: Special Procedures Technologist EMR System: Meditech Important Notes Facility may downstaff travelers to 36–48 hours/week based on scheduling needs during the contract Travelers must be flexible with scheduling changes Facility Details Facility Name: Boone Health Address: 1600 E.
