Migrant Summer Campus-Based Teacher - Charleroi

Position SummaryThe Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit 5's Migrant Education Program is seeking teachers for a campus-based summer school program. Teachers will plan, instruct, and assess Migratory/English Language Learner students through daily on-site instruction and will accompany them during educational activities. The primary goal of the Migrant Education Program is to ensure that all migrant students reach challenging academic standards. This is an exciting opportunity for teachers to make a lasting impact with diverse students! The part-time, contracted position reports to the Migrant Student Support Specialists and Program Supervisors.Position Details: $23/hourCandidate Must Be Available For The Following DatesJuly 13 - July 16, 2026, 8:00AM-3:00PM (IU5 Onboarding, Summer School Inservice)July 20 -July 30, 2026, 8:30AM-12:30PM, Monday-Thursday (In session with students 9:00am - 12:00pm)Required QualificationsCurrent valid Pennsylvania Teaching CertificateRequired state clearances to work with studentsDesired QualificationsTeaching experience preferredExperience working with migratory students and/or English Language LearnersReliable transportation to and from the summer campus locationEssential Functions And ResponsibilitiesCreate and utilize lesson plans following the Pennsylvania Department of Education guidelinesProvide daily on-site instruction to summer school studentsAccompany students during educational activitiesCreate a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of studentsDifferentiate instruction to meet the needs and abilities of individual studentsMaintain accurate and complete records for each studentImplement and enforce all policies and rulesParticipate in required professional development at the summer school in-service trainingEstablish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, teacher aides, partners, coordinators, and supervisorsPerform other duties as assignedPerformance Factors/Job CompetenciesAbility to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and/or independently with minimal supervisionCommunicate effectively, both orally and in writingKnowledge of state and federal laws that impact the organizationWork EnvironmentThis job operates in various locations. Incumbent must have the ability to monitor students and check work in classrooms with a variety of seating and desk organization.
