Our ORR department is ready to hire an Educational Specialist to join our team.
We are looking for compassionate, energetic, and dependable individuals that are committed to focusing on improving educational practices and outcomes specifically for children through curriculum development, instructional support, professional development, and research within their area of expertise.
The position involves establishing positive relationships with children and agency staff, overseeing educational enrichment and support, conducting screenings, participating in meetings and trainings, implementing preschool and toddler curricula, coordinating enrichment outings, managing preschool program coverage, guiding child development specialists, overseeing tutoring volunteers, ensuring educational success through IEP participation, facilitating life skills classes, maintaining records, and promoting cultural sensitivity within the shelter environment.
To be considered you must have:
Must have a Bachelors Degree in Education, Early Education, or a related field.
Must be Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Must be able to display verbal and written communication skills that meet the requirements of the position and needs of clients.
Must have a valid drivers license and be able to be added to the Agencys vehicle insurance policy.
Must be able to obtain a Class One Fingerprint Clearance Card immediately upon hire (if there are any uncertainties whether an applicant may have to go through an appeal process, they are encouraged to complete that process prior to applying, as an invalid card will result in termination of employment).
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must possess a valid drivers license with a 5-year clean driving record.

Be able to lift 50 pounds
Infant-Toddler experience
Computer experience in a Windows environment
