Occupational Therapist

In turn, Northview Public Schools is seeking a part-time (.6 FTE) Occupational Therapist.Qualifications:A valid state license for occupational therapy.Ability to work well with students with different needs and learning styles.Ability to plan prescriptively to meet the academic and behavioral needs of each student.Ability to work on, and be a contributor to, a collaborative team and a close-knit group of educators.Ability to provide direct instruction and consultative services to students with disabilities, their parents, and to teachers.Essential Job Functions:Conduct formal and informal assessments to determine students' functional abilities and needs related to school participation (e.g., fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, handwriting).Provide direct therapy, consultation, or classroom-based interventions to support participation in school routines and learning activities.Work closely with teachers, parents, special educators, and other related service providers to support students' access to the curriculum.Recommend environmental modifications, adaptive equipment, or strategies to enhance student performance.Maintain accurate and timely records of evaluations, progress notes, and IEP documentation.Support staff training on topics like fine motor development, sensory needs, or adaptive strategies.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district policies (e.g., IDEA requirements).Other Job Responsibilities:Other duties as assigned by the Director of Special ServicesDirectly Responsible To:Director of Special ServicesTerms of Employment:As described in the Northview Public Schools NEA contractual agreement.Work Hours: 8:00 - 3:30Evaluation:Annual evaluation performed by the Director of Special Services using the evaluation rubric as identified in the NEA contractual agreement.Postion Posted until April 29, 2026 or Until Filled
