Horse Handler / Barn Staff

We are growing at NDR Therapeutic Riding & Therapy Services and are looking for a horse handler/barn staff to add to our family! JOB DESCRIPTION: The Horse Handler/Barn Staff will be responsible for providing essential care and support for horses and maintaining a clean and organized stable environment. The position will also encompass general "Assistant" duties on behalf of the Executive Director and instructors. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Feeding and Watering - Ensure that all horses are fed and provided with fresh water according to their individual dietary needs and schedules. Grooming - Regularly groom and clean horses, including brushing, picking hooves, and maintaining their overall appearance. Horse Handling - Must be able to handle all horses on the property safely and in control during therapeutic activities and around the ranch. Stall Maintenance - Keep stalls clean, tidy, and comfortable, regularly mucking out soiled bedding and replenishing fresh bedding along with Arenas. Cleaning and Maintenance - Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of areas as directed by the Executive Director and instructors. REQUIREMENTS: We require a minimum of 2 years' experience of equine experience. Candidates with a genuine passion for horses and a willingness to learn will also be considered. Physical fitness and ability to handle the physical demands of the job, including lifting up to 75lbs and performing tasks outdoors in various weather conditions. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with colleagues, clients, and visitors. Demonstrated listening skills and the ability to follow directions accurately are essential requirements for this position. Knowledge of basic horse care and handling techniques will be an advantage. Must clear a TB test along with a Federal live scan background check. Must be able to walk on uneven surfaces and be on their feet all day. Must be available for up to 20 hours a week including Saturdays.
