Ab Initio Developer - 100% RemoteJOB SUMMARY:Ab Initio Developers are responsible for the development, programming, and coding of Information Technology solutions. Developers are responsible for documenting detailed system specifications, participating in unit testing and maintenance of planned and unplanned internally developed applications, and evaluating and performance testing purchased products. Developers are responsible for incorporating IT controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the application and data processed or output by the application. Developers are assigned to moderately complex development projects and are well versed in data quality processes and data governance procedures to ensure data is fit for consumption.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Create data profiles, write scripts, and develop workflows to support the data quality programPerform data analysis to identify data quality issues for relational and non-relational data sourcesWrite code for moderately complex system designs, including programs that span platforms; code and/or create APIsWrite code for enhancing existing programs or developing new programsReview code developed by other IT DevelopersProvide input to and help drive programming standardsProvide input to the development of data quality standards and rules for data quality dimensionsWrite detailed technical specifications for subsystems and identify integration pointsReport missing elements found in system and functional requirements and explain impacts to team membersConsult with other IT Developers, Business Analysts, Systems Analysts, Project Managers, and vendorsScope time, resources, and other requirements for programming projects, seeking review from other Developers, Analysts, or Project Managers on estimatesPerform unit testing and debugging; set test conditions based on code specifications, seeking assistance from other Developers or team members on more complex errors as neededSupport transition of applications throughout the product development life cycle, including documentation of what must be migratedResearch vendor products and alternatives, and conduct vendor product gap analysis/comparisonEnsure IT Controls and standard corporate practices are followed to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of applications and dataREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Direct hands-on experience with Ab Initio, SQL, and Unix scriptingExperience collaborating effectively with vendors and business partners for solution deliveryHIRING PREFERENCES:Experience with ETL development tools (e.g., Informatica, MuleSoft, Talend, DataStage, SSIS)Experience with testing methodologies relevant to the stated major development language(s)/technologyExperience with a major relational database management system; NoSQL database experience is a plusExperience with Linux operating systems is a plus; RHEL preferredKnowledge of messaging engines is helpfulExperience with RESTful services and JSON preferredCloud experience preferredStrong relationship management and collaboration skills to facilitate effective working relationships with varied stakeholders and team members, including vendorsAbility to manage and/or participate in projects and ensure work is completed on time with high qualityStrong problem-solving skills, with a focus on understanding overall business issues and determining innovative solutionsStrong verbal and written communication skillsMust be self-directed, highly organized, and adaptable, with the ability to effectively multitaskFamiliarity with current and emerging technologies, with willingness to investigate and suggest new technology to meet business needsRequired Work Experience: 5+ years related work experience; professional experience with technical design and coding in the IT industryRequired Education: Related Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work experienceWelcome to ConsultNet, a premier national provider of technology talent and solutions.
