Repacker
Repacking WorkerAs a repacking worker you will perform an array of job functions, primarily working to ensure that everything shipped out is of good quality. You will take larger cased units and break them down into smaller units.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist in staging items that need to be repackedRepack productDiscard of poor-quality merchandiseAssure that all products are coded according to company food safety standardsMaintain a clean, orderly, and safe working environmentPrepare orders by selecting specific items per customer orderStage items in appropriate location for the loading processMaintain fresh and adequate inventory of split items in their respective locationsClean and sanitize repacking roomLabel products according to company and customer requirementsCompact recyclable materials in the compactorMaintains safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area and workstations neat; sweep, dust and/or mop. Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness alwaysOrganize cooler shelves and pallets (occasionally)Special projectsWear proper safety equipmentAssess quality of productOther duties as assignedQualification and RequirementsDependable and reliableAble and willing to learn how to operate warehouse equipment (pallet jacks, lifts, and other tools)Must be a self-starter and can work independentlyDays of week and start times are negotiable. This is primarily a mid-morning into the evening position.Physical Demands and AbilitiesRegularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hearRegularly lift and/or move objects 10-75 lbs., occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 lbs.Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawlOccasionally required to sit and climb or balanceSafely operate electric pallet jacks and possibly a reach machine, and to push or pull a hand truckSpecific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focusSpecific hearing abilities required for this job include adequate hearing over a loud work environment in which several pieces of machinery are frequently running including pallet jacks, large shipping vehicles, motors, engines, etc.Frequently required to enter and exit large refrigerated coolers, as well as work in a warehouse open to outdoor temperatures during shipping and/or receiving.Must be able to tolerate working in temperatures ranging from zero degrees up to 100 degrees; work environment may be cool and wetAbility to multitask, reprioritize, and to make quick decisions and follow commands of supervising staffMeet attendance standardsNative Maine Produce is an equal opportunity employer.
