This organization operates a diverse portfolio of retail businesses—including grocery, convenience, fuel, and specialty retail—while maintaining its own production, distribution, and supply chain operations.This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in supporting a multi-entity organization’s financial health, with a focus on tax compliance, treasury operations, and corporate accounting. The Senior Accountant will contribute to critical financial processes, partner cross-functionally, and help drive continuous improvement in a collaborative, employee-focused environment.Job DescriptionThe Senior Accountant – Tax will support a variety of accounting and financial functions, with an emphasis on tax compliance and treasury-related activities across multiple business entities. This position plays a vital role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting strategic financial decision-making.Key ResponsibilitiesManage daily cash positioning and support cash forecasting across multiple entities to ensure financial stability and liquidityExecute payments and fund transfers in accordance with internal controls, ensuring accuracy and proper authorizationMonitor debt, credit facilities, and borrowing activity, maintaining schedules and tracking usagePrepare and review bank reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies as neededSupport banking administration, including user access management, fraud prevention efforts, and covenant reportingCoordinate tax compliance activities with external advisors, ensuring timely and accurate filings across entitiesAssist with tax research, analysis, and documentation, including support for book-to-tax differencesContribute to month-end close processes, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and audit supportMaintain and enhance treasury and tax processes, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and strengthen controlsSupport entity management, system enhancements, and integration efforts related to acquisitions or organizational growthQualificationsRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field3–6 years of progressive accounting experienceStrong understanding of general accounting principles and financial processesExperience with financial reconciliations, reporting, and month-end close activitiesHigh attention to detail with strong organizational and analytical skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentPreferred QualificationsExposure to treasury operations and/or corporate tax environmentsExperience working with external auditors, financial institutions, or tax advisorsFamiliarity with multi-entity or complex organizational structuresExperience supporting process improvements and internal control initiativesBenefitsOur client offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package designed to support employees’ overall well-being and financial security.
