ELR Teacher - Extended School Year

POSITION SUMMARY:The Early Learning Room teacher provides a stimulating and enriching environment for students with special needs. This is an extended school year position from 6/9/26 - 7/30/26.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAppropriate classroom instruction experience preferred.Responsible for the preparation and development of all lesson plans and confirming that these plans are designed to meet the goals of each child's developmental needs.Demonstrated ability to work effectively/cooperatively with student, parent and staff.CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain.Demonstrated ability to work effectively/cooperatively with student, parent and staff.Proven employment record illustrating warmth, patience, ability to adapt to changing environment, consistency, tolerance, empathy, trust, reliability, strong moral character, good attendance, sound judgment, discretion and confidentiality.Ability to organize materials and time efficiently and to keep neat, accurate records.Shall have good academic skills in reading, writing and math.Ability to ensure the physical safety of the student which may require running.Able to collect and analyze data.Encourage and engage children in an Active Learning Environment.Model and demonstrate developmental appropriate practices.Maintain classroom environment and materials in a clean, safe manner with a pleasant atmosphere.Assist students when needed with toileting needs, including assisting with bathroom accidents.Supervise bus arrivals and departures and possibly riding the bus with students when necessary.Assist with children's outdoor weather attire before releasing them to go home.Communicate and involve parents in the education of their child.Participate in programs special events.Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of the job.Other duties as assigned.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESStudents, student aides and parent helpers.OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIESAbility to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional program; ability to plan and implement lessons based on district objectives and the needs and abilities of students. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers and parents; skill in oral and written communication.
