The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and test PLC programs, ensuring seamless integration with the cloud infrastructure and adherence to project requirements. They will contribute to the development of efficient and reliable automation solutions while staying up to date with industry trends and best practices.EV Charging Infrastructure (EVCI): The EVCI group at NIS is developing a range of electric vehicle charging station products and corresponding software tools and services to be launched in the North American market. These chargers are developed in cooperation with other Nidec teams, and will be manufactured at our location in Cleveland, OH.Education/Experience requirements:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred. Equivalent work experience is also acceptable2 to 4 years' experience for direct Codesys experience. Minus 1 year with masters & 2 years with PhD4 to 6 years with strong Linux/C++ experience. Minus 1 year with masters & 2 years with PhDExtensive experience in programming PLCs using Codesys, particularly with structure textA strong understanding of popular interfaces and bus protocols such as Modbus, CAN Bus, Ethernet TCP/IP, and RS232/RS485Prior experience working in operations related field, e.g., Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing or HealthcareProficiency in test-driven software development practices and toolsFamiliarity with modern software development methodsPreferred experience: Prior experience with relevant technologies is preferred, including:EV charging infrastructure and corresponding standards and protocolsFamiliarity with relevant languages and environments like Linux and C/C++Development for embedded systemsDevelopment and use of APIsInterfacing with Sensors and IoT platformsPayment systems and platforms
