MUST HAVE: DATABRICKS ADMINISTRATION EXPERIENCE We are seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to lead the administration and governance of our Databricks environment. In this role, you will be the technical owner of our shared Databricks platform, setting and enforcing standards that enable analytics and AI teams to build securely, efficiently, and at scale.Location: Hybrid, Houston, TX 77079| Pay: $105/hr W2 | Duration: 9+ months (extensions possible)Please Note: W2 ONLY - Per Client Requirement NO C2C, H1B, TN Visa, 1099, F1 – CPT & OPT *Must be located/authorized to work in the USA without visa sponsorship or transfer now or in the future. No C2C inquiries, pleaseIf interested, please email your resume to Essential Requirements: MUST HAVE TO BE CONSIDERED: High-priority: 2–3 years of hands-on Databricks administration (workspaces, clusters, jobs, Unity Catalog, compute policies, platform configuration, and guardrails)5+ years of data engineering or platform engineering experienceExpert knowledge of:Unity Catalog (catalog/workspace management, lineage, permissions)Delta Lake (architecture, schema enforcement, best practices)Spark and distributed compute optimizationImplementing RBAC and ABAC for secure accessProven experience managing cost controls and governance (usage monitoring, spend alerts, cost optimization, billing logs, dashboarding)Strong Python/PySpark and SQL skillsExperience setting and enforcing platform standards for ingestion, orchestration pipelines, data quality, validation, and complianceHands-on experience with pipeline orchestration tools (DLT, Airflow, or Databricks Workflows)Preferred:Experience with large-scale enterprise data platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)Dashboarding for platform health, compliance, and costExposure to high-stakes analytical environments (e.g., Trading & Supply)
