This person would work across teams to design end-to-end metallic and composite components for next-gen aircraft and peripherals. This person would also work to develop tooling, both internally and with external vendors, and support layup of first article components to inform production.How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:Design using CAD, managing all parts in detailed assemblies including composites with associated manufacturing models and toolingWork with internal and external fabricators to see parts through manufacturingIntegration of different systems installed within the aircraft structureGood understanding of aircraft material systems requirements and associated toolingCreate assembly and part level drawings, technical data packages, and BOMsFollow Design, Review, and Change processes, and assist in process improvementsDevelop and build first article components, assemble prototypes and run experiments to inform future designsMentoring team members, and coordinating agile team goals and timelinesParticipate in cross-functional design reviewsDevelopment of scalable manufacturing processes in parallel with product designMinimum Qualifications:Supplier management and development for R&D composite tooling + partsDedicated supply chain support proxy for R&D composite toolingLayup of first article components and working with vendors (internal and external) on layup methodology developmentExperience with various machine shop tools: lathe, mill, welder, machining of compositeDevelopment of material systems for Aerospace applications with emphasis on low cost prototype pathways including out of autoclave$110,000 - $145,000 a yearThe wage listed here reflects our best faith estimate for this role.
