About the RoleAs Data Engineer Lead, your mission will be to design, develop, and implement robust, scalable, and high-performing data solutions. You will lead a team of talented engineers to deliver projects that align with business objectives, oversee data architecture evolution, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to turn complex data challenges into actionable strategies.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design and architecture of complex, enterprise-grade data solutions.Develop and execute the data engineering strategy in alignment with company goals.Act as the primary technical contact for clients, understanding their data needs and overseeing solution delivery.Report regularly to senior leadership on team performance, resourcing, and strategic initiatives.Champion best practices in data governance, quality, and security.Mentor and develop senior and junior data engineers to foster technical growth and innovation.Evaluate emerging technologies to enhance data platforms and drive continuous improvement.Collaborate with other business units to translate data requirements into actionable engineering initiatives.Experience:4+ years in data engineering, with leadership experience in technical teams.Expert-level proficiency in Python and PySpark, including complex data pipeline development.Deep understanding of SQL, Azure Data Factory, Blob Storage, Azure Functions, and Databricks (including Delta Lake, Spark SQL, Unity Catalog).Expertise in CI/CD principles and Azure DevOps workflows.Strong grasp of data modelling, warehousing, governance, and enterprise-scale architecture.Understanding, interest and passion for Agentic AIFamiliarity with tools such as Snowflake, Airflow, dbt, or comparable data technologies.Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or ARM templates) is a plus.Certifications such as Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional or Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate are desirable.Skills:Outstanding communication skills, capable of presenting complex technical ideas clearly to diverse audiences.Proven ability to lead, motivate, and inspire technical teams.Exceptional problem-solving and analytical mindset.Strong time management—able to manage multiple strategic projects concurrently.Passion for learning, innovation, and staying ahead of emerging trends.Adaptable and comfortable with fast-paced environments.Committed mentor and team collaborator, fostering growth and excellence.
