Workday Integration Architect

From discovery to full-scale program delivery, we take our clients from vision to decision and from doing to done.The RoleSol is seeking an experienced Workday Integration Architect to join our growing practice on a part-time contractor basis (approximately 20 hours per week). In this role, you will design, build, and maintain data integrations between Workday and a range of external systems — including payroll, benefits, and HRIS platforms — for Sol's clients across multiple industries. Workday Implementer Certification is required to be considered for this role.Key ResponsibilitiesIntegration development: Design and develop inbound and outbound integrations using Workday Studio, Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), and Core Connectors to support client HR and business operations. System configuration: Map data fields between Workday and third-party systems, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and data integrity across all integration touchpoints. Requirements gathering: Collaborate with functional leads and client stakeholders to translate business needs into clear technical specifications and integration designs. Testing and validation: Perform unit and integration testing across all developed integrations; document findings and ensure solutions meet agreed specifications prior to go-live. Post-production support (AMS): Provide application management and support services, diagnosing and resolving integration issues in a timely and structured manner. Documentation and governance: Maintain thorough documentation of integration designs, data mappings, and support procedures. QualificationsWorkday tools expertise: Demonstrated hands-on experience with Workday Studio, EIB, and Core Connectors; ability to design and deliver complex integrations independently. Technical proficiency: Strong working knowledge of XML, XSLT, and Java, as well as web services protocols including SOAP and REST APIs. HRIS / ERP background: Prior experience in HRIS, IT, or ERP implementation roles; familiarity with HR data structures and payroll or benefits integrations is a plus. Problem-solving orientation: Ability to troubleshoot complex integration issues methodically and communicate resolution paths clearly to both technical and business audiences. Independent work style: Comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy as a contractor in a distributed team environment. Communication skills: Strong written and verbal communication; able to lead requirements discussions, document technical designs, and provide status updates. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent professional experience Workday Implementer Certification requiredWorkday certification required. Workday Integration or Workday Studio certification is highly preferred; Workday HCM Implementation Lead or Integration Architect credentials are a strong differentiator.
