Job Details Location: Northport, Alabama (35476) — Nursing jobs in Northport, AL / Alabama travel nurse opportunity Setting: Multi-specialty Medical/Surgical Telemetry Unit (Med/Surg Tele) Employment Type: Travel Contract — Travel Registered Nurse (Travel RN) Start Date: April 13, 2026 End Date: July 12, 2026 Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour nights (19:00-07:00), every other weekend, holidays as required — Night Shift Travel RN Hours per Week: 36 (guaranteed) Estimated Weekly Pay: $1840-$1940 Scrub Colors: Solid Navy Parking: Available on-site EMR: Meditech (experience with Meditech EMR preferred) Required Qualifications Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alabama or Compact state (no temporary licenses accepted) Minimum 2 years of RN experience; will consider 18 months if at least 1 year is recent in Med/Surg Tele specialty BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross) Telemetry and acute care experience preferred — clinical telemetry skills Willingness to float to other units and hospitals as needed (float pool/float nurse) Responsibilities Provide patient-centered care to medical and surgical patients, including telemetry monitoring and care for dialysis patients Manage orthopedic and general surgery cases (fractures, appendectomy, hernia repair, cholecystectomy, colon resection) Perform clinical assessments, medication administration, wound care, and documentation in Meditech Focus on pain management, mobility, fall prevention, and prevention of post-operative complications Maintain assigned nurse/patient ratio of 1:6 with Team Leader support Collaborate with interdisciplinary nursing and ancillary staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes Float to other units/hospitals as required to support staffing needs This is an excellent Med/Surg Tele RN travel assignment for Registered Nurses seeking hands-on experience in acute care and telemetry.
