Primary responsibilities include providing 1:2 midwife backup support, responding to OB/GYN emergency consultations, and managing labor and delivery cases when midwife capabilities are exceeded. The position requires continuous on-site availability during assigned call shifts with solo practice primarily, though extended contracts greater than one week allow for midwife primary call with locum providing backup support.
