For more information about the company and product line visit: www.sigsauer.com Position Summary: Responsible for all aspects of quality inspection of the company’s products, using metrology tools and techniques. Performs a wide variety of routine and non-routine inspections in the production process using pre-determined methods, including visual, mechanical, test, functional, collimator set-up for optics verification. FLSA: Non-Exempt Job Duties and Responsibilities: Efficient/effective planning and performance of routine and non-routine mechanical inspection using pre-determined methods for product acceptability. Verify inspection data with double gaging to assure integrity and resolve discrepancies found during part inspection. Support Quality Engineering with MRB identification and processing of discrepant material. Using the company operating system to generate inquiries, perform movement of material, and any other function required to perform job duties. Implementation of expedient methods of inspection to maintain product flow in accordance with company directives. This includes assistance in the validation of fixtures and gauges. Using corrective action system and subsequent follow up process to resolve deficiencies found during job function. Communicate effectively to supervision regarding problems and corrective action. Seek and act upon ways to improve daily work processes to enhance quality and productivity and satisfy customer needs and expectations; look for cost reduction and service improvements; eliminate unnecessary or low priority work; initiate and encourage others to resolve impediments and act on improvement opportunities. Participate on problem solving teams for driving to root cause of internal and external quality failures, particularly related to prevention of customer escapes Participate in 5S Workplace organizational activities and maintain the area in good working order through sustainment activities, including requests for maintenance assistance when needed. Education/Experience & Skills: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Oracle and Agile system use a plus. Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Must be able to clearly, concisely, and accurately convey ideas and information to others, both verbally and in written form. Time management skills. Ability to work well within teams and independently. Working Conditions: Regularly perform repetitive tasks. Work is primarily standing (90 + % of the shift) except for lunch and break periods. Shifts are 8 hours, 10 hours, and 12 hours. The duties of this job normally require exposure to a typical manufacturing environment. Frequent standing, sitting, stooping/squatting, walking, and stair climbing can be expected along with frequent lifting and/or moving of tooling, parts containers, and materials up to 40 pounds. Must be able to reach with hands and arms, bend and kneel frequently at a minimum of 50% of the shift, as well as undergo repetitive wrist, hand, elbow, shoulder, and ankle motions. Must demonstrate proficient fine motor skills, ability to grip, reach, pull, turn, and use tools to torque fixtures in various machinery or in the assembly, machining, or testing of parts. Specific vision abilities required may include close vision, distance vision, peripheral and depth perception, and the ability to focus on fine print. Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required. Must comply with all work exposure EH&S training requirements and adhere to SIG SAUER Inc. security mandates.
