Job Title: Senior AI LeaderCompany: Spiricore Consulting LLCLocation: Boston, MA (Hybrid)Employment Type: Full-timeSalary: $400,000–$450,000/yearExperience Level: Senior (5–7 years)About the Role The Senior AI Leader will own PSI’s AI research agenda, leading the design of foundation-model and reinforcement-learning systems that reason about simulations, generate hypotheses, and verify new physics. This is a hands-on senior individual-contributor role with roughly a 60:40 split between research/engineering and people leadership/strategy.This position is ideal for someone from a frontier lab who has shipped AI-for-Science work and now wants to build and scale their own AI organization. PSI is looking for senior AI leaders who want to:Build and train frontier-grade models and agents for scientific discovery.Work deeply across physics, AI, and large-scale simulation environments.Recruit, mentor, and manage a world-class AI team in a mission-driven, early-stage environment.Key ResponsibilitiesSet and drive the AI research roadmap across foundation models, reinforcement learning, and agentic systems for physics discovery.Contribute directly to core research: architect models, design training schemes, and prototype new agent behaviors in close collaboration with physicists and engineers.Design training infrastructure and evaluation frameworks that let AI systems discover, test, and validate physics results at scale.Recruit, hire, and manage AI researchers and engineers, building a high-bar, collaborative research culture.Define processes for project selection, experimentation, code review, and cross-team collaboration with physics and platform groups.Serve as the internal thought leader on AI, guiding technical trade-offs, priorities, and long-term architecture decisions.Selectively represent PSI’s AI vision to key external stakeholders (e.g., advisors, investors, limited conferences) where useful, without requiring a heavy “public persona.”Work with founders and leadership to align AI strategy with company milestones, security constraints, and long-term scientific objectives.Required SkillsLeadershipMachine LearningPhysicsResearch
