Excavation Laborer

Job Description Job SummaryWe are seeking a dependable and hardworking Laborer / Top Hand to support field operations for mass grading, road preparation, and underground utility installation. This position plays a critical role in assisting equipment operators, foremen, and utility crews while helping maintain a safe, productive, and organized job site.The ideal candidate is motivated, team-oriented, willing to learn, and takes pride in quality work. This role requires physical endurance, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced outdoor construction environment.ResponsibilitiesAssist crews with excavation, grading, utility installation, and general site development tasksPerform hand work around heavy equipment and underground utilitiesSet grades, shovel, rake, compact, and clean work areas as neededHelp install pipe, utility structures, and related materialsMaintain a clean, safe, and organized job siteFollow direction from Foremen, Superintendents, and OperatorsSupport equipment operators with spotting, measurements, and material handlingLoad and unload tools, materials, and equipmentAdhere to all company safety policies and OSHA requirementsAssist with general labor duties and project cleanup throughout all phases of constructionWork collaboratively with team members to maintain productivity and quality standardsWhat You NeedPrevious construction or site development experience preferredAbility to perform physically demanding work in varying weather conditionsStrong work ethic and willingness to learnAbility to follow instructions and work well within a team environmentFamiliarity with construction tools and equipment preferredReliable transportation and punctual attendanceCommitment to job site safety and professionalismAbility to lift 50+ pounds and work on uneven terrainPreferred QualificationsExperience in excavation, grading, or underground utility workOSHA certification or safety trainingExperience working around heavy equipmentCDL or equipment operation experience is a plusBenefitsCompetitive pay based on experience401(k) with Company MatchPTO and Paid HolidaysHealth, Dental, and Vision InsuranceOpportunities for growth and advancementSupportive and collaborative team environment
