Together, our interrelated programs provide a whole-person, whole-family, and whole-life approach that unlocks solutions for a lifetime.To provide a supervised learning opportunity to doctoral-level psychology students; to support externs to develop competencies in areas including, but not limited to: psychological testing, psychotherapy, and other clinical skills.Responsibilities Mott Haven Academy Charter School - MSW Internship Program Supervision Structure Interns Receive Comprehensive Clinical Supervision, Including 1 hour of individual clinical supervision weekly with the Director of Social Services (DSS) 30 minutes of weekly task supervision with Family and Student Specialists (FSS) 1 hour weekly Social Emotional group supervision meetings Bi-weekly Attendance Team meetings Internship Responsibilities Direct Student Support Provide 1:1 school-based counseling (caseload of 6–10 students annually) Co-lead 2–3 small counseling groups Support Social-Emotional Learning Time (SELT) alongside FSS Learn and assist with suicide risk assessments, safety planning, and crisis support planning Support with and learn about problem-solving strategies and restorative practices to develop de-escalation skills Attendance & Family Engagement Manage a caseload of students identified for attendance support Monitor and track attendance data Make attendance outreach calls on days you are at internship Collaborate with families to develop attendance success plans that address barriers Documentation & Data Maintain timely and accurate counseling notes in online systems Stay updated on student records (e.g., MySchool, Life Events) Utilize DESSA and other social-emotional data to inform interventions and track progress Communicate with families and teachers regarding counseling consent, treatment goals, and termination School Community Involvement Participate in school-wide events and community activities Attend Social Emotional and Attendance meetings Support the Social Emotional team in the student recruitment process Complete breakfast, lunch, and recess supervision duties as assigned Professional & Ethical Responsibilities Report all instances of suspected child abuse or maltreatment to a supervisor in a timely manner Provide clinical interventions aligned with Haven Academy’s Social Emotional framework, including: Restorative Justice Trauma-Informed Practices Responsive Classroom Ideal Candidate We Are Seeking a Candidate Who Is eager to learn and engage directly in hands-on clinical work Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability within a fast-paced school environment Actively uses supervision for professional growth, reflection, and skill development Is motivated to build a diverse clinical toolbox, including assessment, intervention, and family engagement techniques Is comfortable engaging in reflective conversations and navigating challenging situations Additional details regarding professional requirements, documentation expectations, and onboarding procedures will be discussed during the interview process.Education RequiredMasters’s Degree from a U.S. accredited educational institution or Credential Evaluation for a non-U.S. educational institution
