What You’ll DoModernize and refactor complex business logic currently embedded within PostgreSQL functionsDesign scalable schemas and analytics-ready data modelsBuild performance-optimized queries to support high-volume data environmentsDesign, develop, and own production-grade data pipelines from ingestion through consumptionImplement database partitioning, indexing, and tuning strategiesEnsure data quality, testing, monitoring, and operational reliability across pipelinesTroubleshoot and resolve production data and performance issuesCollaborate with engineering and business stakeholders to improve data accessibility and usabilitySupport long-term scalability and modernization of legacy database systemsContribute to architecture decisions surrounding data infrastructure and reliabilityRequired Qualifications5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Backend Engineering, or related technical rolesDeep production-level experience with PostgreSQL and advanced SQLExperience modernizing or refactoring legacy database-centric systemsStrong proficiency with Python or similar data engineering languageStrong understanding of ETL/ELT pipelinesExperience designing scalable data models and schemasKnowledge of query optimization, indexing, partitioning, and database performance tuningExperience supporting production systems and troubleshooting complex data issuesPreferred QualificationsExperience preparing data platforms for AI or machine learning workloadsFamiliarity with orchestration tools such as Apache AirflowExperience working with cloud-based data platformsBackground implementing automated data quality checks and testing frameworksExperience building highly reliable, scalable data infrastructure
