Travel RN - Med/Surg
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medical/Surgical unit position, caring for adolescent through geriatric patients including post-surgical and trauma cases on a night shift schedule.Job Details• Medical/Surgical unit in a hospital setting, with overflow responsibilities,• Patient population spans adolescents through geriatrics,• Cases include Total Hip, Knee, and Shoulder Arthroplasty, as well as trauma patients,• 27-bed unit with an average daily census of 24,• Patient ratio of 1:5-6,• EMR: Epic; also uses Pyxis and SBAR communication framework,• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM,• Every other weekend required,• Floating within the facility is required,• No on-call requirements,Job Requirements• Active GA or Compact RN license required,• Current BLS certification required,• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience required,• RN license must be active at time of consideration,Additional Information• First-time travelers are welcome to apply,• Local candidates are accepted,• Navy blue scrubs required,• RTO maximum of 7 days per contract; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment,• Holiday coverage policy: if 1 or 2 major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO permitted; if 3 major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler must work 2 and may request 1 holiday off,• Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday (counts as 1), Christmas Eve/Christmas Day (counts as 1), and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (counts as 1),• No alternate shift or schedule change requests are permitted - the posted night shift is firm,• Travelers who have previously worked at any Piedmont facility must have been away for a full year before returning as a traveler,• Two supervisory references (Manager level or above; charge nurse references not accepted) are highly preferred for consideration,• Shift schedule is fixed with no exceptions; travel pairs will not be assigned to the same shift on the same unit
