Job DescriptionCompany DescriptionStrickler Associates is growing, and we’re looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer or EIT to join our team!Since 1967, Strickler Associates has provided high-quality MEP engineering services throughout the DMV and surrounding areas. Our projects range from small tenant fit-outs to large and complex facilities, with much of our work focused on K-12 education, religious facilities, and tenant improvement projects.We are looking for a motivated professional who can work independently while collaborating effectively with our multidisciplinary team.Role Description The Electrical Engineer / EIT will work on-site in Fairfax, VA in a full-time capacity, supporting the design and development of electrical systems for a variety of building and infrastructure projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing electrical plans and specifications, performing load calculations, and contributing to power distribution and lighting designs in accordance with codes and standards.The role involves coordinating with project managers, other engineering disciplines, and external stakeholders to ensure designs are practical, maintainable, and cost-effective. The Electrical Engineer / EIT will assist with reviewing submittals, responding to field questions, and supporting construction administration to verify that installations meet design intent. The individual will also participate in technical documentation, report writing, and continuous improvement of design practices.QualificationsStrong foundation in Electrical Engineering principles, including electricity and power systems, with the ability to apply them to real-world projects.Proficiency in Electrical Design for buildings and infrastructure, including power distribution and related systems.Understanding of applicable electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC), and familiarity with industry design tools and software.Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline; EIT certification or eligibility is preferred.Attention to detail, analytical problem-solving skills, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients.Willingness to work on-site in Fairfax, VA and occasionally visit project locations as needed.Experience with consulting engineering or building systems design is beneficial, as is exposure to construction administration activities.Strong proficiency in Revit and AutoCADExperience performing short-circuit studies and electrical system analysis is a plus, but not required
