Part-Time After School Program Director
Primary PurposeDirect and manage the operations of the elementary school after school program.QualificationsSpecial Knowledge/Skills:Thorough understanding of after school program operationsEffective organizational, communication, computer, and interpersonal skillsAbility to coordinate after school program functionsAbility to implement policy and proceduresAbility to manage budget and personnelMajor Responsibilities And DutiesChild Care OperationsMaintain high quality childcare standards based on developmentally appropriate practices.Maintain consistent, open, and effective communication with parents.Provide reliable, accurate, and timely information about the after school program to interested parties. Policy, Reports, and LawImplement federal and state law, Department of Family Protective Services rule, and board policyCompile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.Maintain accurate records on children enrolled in the program.Budget and InventoryManage the budget based on documented needs and ensure operations are cost effective and funds are managed prudently. Manage program equipment and supplies and recommend replacement and disposal of obsolete equipment as necessary.Personnel ManagementRecruit staff members, schedule monthly work calendars, and communicate any changes to maintain a fully staffed daily team for ASC.SafetyEnsure measures are in place and operating to protect students, staff, supplies, and equipment.Maintain safety standards conforming with federal, state, and insurance regulations and develop a program of preventive safety.Implement and follow district safety protocols and emergency protocols.Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental FactorsTools/Equipment Used: Personal computer and printer.Posture: Moderate standing; occasional kneeling, squatting, bending, and stoopingMotion: Moderate walking, climbing, lifting, balancing, and handing or moving materialsLifting: Occasional light lifting and carryingEnvironment: Work inside and/or outside; exposure to noise.Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress and self-control in the presence of children.
